IMDB Listing for The TV WheelThe TV WheelSo I'm sitting at home one day, nothing much going on, and I get a call...

Did I want to build a few puppets for Joel (Mystery Science Theater 3000) Hodgson's new sketch comedy experiment, and perform in the show?

My answer - "How much would I have to pay you?"

Fortunately it didn't cost much - just a week of my life that was too much fun to be considered work.

Part TV show, part stage show, with a hint of physical danger (when the Wheel turned), The TV Wheel was created as an HBO special, but it ultimately appeared on Comedy Central instead. Shortly before it aired, I took a break from Starship Troopers, flew back to L.A. and appeared in some new introductory scenes for the show. It made a nice vacation of sorts, jumping from the high-tech computer graphics world back into good old-fashioned hand puppets - and some very disturbing hand puppets they were. (Joel bought them off-the-shelf, god only knows where.)

I can only sum up my TV Wheel experience in this way: Joel Hodgson is the finest man who ever breathed. (He might read this, okay?)

The Opening - Joel explains the "Wheel"
and points to Trey by the ladder.
(Okay, he's not really pointing to me)
Vic Lawston and Pumpernickel

Vic Lawston (Paul Feig) and Pumpernickel the Monkey
- "Highly licensable supercharacters"

A "Thunderbirds" spoof - "Filmed In Superpuppetricity!"
