daVinci's Angel Written and Designed by:
for Tempus Entertainment
Leonardo daVinci's assistant becomes the first person to test a human-powered flying machine. Unlike the other attractions listed here, daVinci's Angel wasn't a ride I programmed. However, it was a ride I very much hoped to program ...
After years of working on other people's ridefilms, my partner Maija Beeton, (producer of Time Machine of Dreams among other things) and I decided it was time to create one of our own. So we wrote the script and created extensive concept art for a proposed project titled daVinci's Angel.
Based on an original concept by Tempus Entertainment of Salt Lake City (my client for The Legend River and Smash Factory), daVinci's Angel was intended to push the ridefilm envelope a bit by telling a complex, partly historical, partly fantastic, story centered around Leonardo daVinci and his dream of inventing a flying machine. The project was designed as a combination of live-action, miniatures, and computer graphics on Hi-Definition video.
Unfortunately, Tempus Expeditions' debut installation at the Mall of America in Minneapolis proved to be its only one, and the daVinci project was never produced.
Well, not yet, anyway ...
