No, really! Sorry, no photos or text available for this one yet...
The Legend River was one of the most difficult-to-program rides I've ever faced. The film was a live-action trip down an entirely real series of whitewater rapids. Not only that, but the Moog base was a 6-DOF, which meant I had to program 6 different axes... and they were all moving all the time. It took a long time to come up with a motion program that wasn't thoroughly nauseating.
Tempus Expeditions is now closed, so The Legend River may never again see the light of day. However, if you could see it, you might be interested to know:
Watch for: nearly invisible transitions between three separate live-action sequences of whitewater rapids.
Trivia: Yes, the camera really did go over a waterfall - though for a while there was doubt about it ever coming back.
Director Jon Farhat was a Visual FX Oscar nominee for his work on The Mask.
